Crushed Chili Powder RECALL

Recently the FDA released a statement from top manufacturing company Dragonfly that their crushed chili powder in 6.3 ounce tubs have been recalled due to possible contamination with salmonella. This recall is the result of sampling done by the FDA. Salmonella is an organism with the potential to cause serious infections, sometimes fatal, in people with weakened or underdeveloped immune systems like children or elderly people. The illness for an average immune system exposed to salmonella poisoning is severe diarrhea and dehydration accompanied by fever, vomiting and stomach pains. People infected with salmonella also risk developing Reiter’s syndrome, a disease that can last for months or years and can lead to chronic arthritis.
